THE GAME COMPLETION TOURNAMENT 2026
Play to win

This competition is straightforward; All you have to do is complete your games.
It doesn't matter when you got your hands on it... All you have to do is complete the game.

If you're looking for an easy and visual way to track your games beaten, Backloggd.com might be something to consider. It's free and relatively easy to use.

What determines when a game is completed?

There are two criteria:

- You complete the campaign.
It doesn't matter what difficulty it is on, just as long as the credits have rolled.

OR

- You get all achievements.
Getting all achievements in a game also counts as being completed.

_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Rules

1. You do not need to have started the game this year, merely complete it.

2. All games completed in 2026 count towards your tally.

3. Expansions and DLC do not count towards additional completion, unless they add a discrete secondary credit sequence to the game. (IE. Monster Hunter Iceborne, Half-Life Opposing Force, etc)

4. Any kind of game counts so long as you can complete it, or gain all of its achievements.

5. You don't need to show proof, but you can if you want to. We're using the honor system.

6. As you complete games, make a list and number them, and then post here showing your overall progress.

7. The tournament ends midnight 12/31/26.

Now, go beat some games!

Tact's games from the previous thread:

1. Space Marine: Anniversary Edition.

I remember enjoying this game for what it was back in like 2014. Playing through it this time I found it kind of shallow and inconsistent. Often it was rather frustrating. Looking forward to Space Marine 2, though!

2. Space Marine 2

I have a lot of conflicting feelings on this game. The story was both good, and kind of annoying. I felt like it was decently realized for a 40k game, while also dropping the ball in some areas. I felt like the combat was good, but weirdly unintuitive. When it clicked I loved it, but often I felt like I was unclear on and brute forcing my way through the game. It made me feel sloppy in a way I don't appreciate. And I can't tell if I'm mad cause bad, or if I somehow missed something. Like the parry window just straight up not working? And never being able to regain armor, so I'm constantly on the verge of death. I would dodge attacks when notified and still take damage.

I want to keep playing and try to get better, though. So there's that.

I would say it was a 7, bordering on a 6. Right now, anyway. We'll see what I think after doing the side missions with my friends. I liked it way more than the original, that's for sure.

3. Rayman 2: The Great Escape

I remember this game being rather disturbing as a kid. I also remember never being able to beat it either and giving up on the last boss.

Well as an adult I'm still disturbed, but it's because how bad the final boss was. Like damn, it was bad enough to retroactively taint my opinion of the game. The bad parts are so bad they overshadow the high parts in this game. Just enough to make me tilt from like to dislike overall. But it's also close enough that I don't want to just write it off.

I really have no idea what the background of Rayman is, but somehow this game manages to make robot space pirate slavers, fairies, tall nude semi-animalistic elf women, totemic earth spirits, interdimensional gnome men, voodoo Mike Wazowski, and talking frogs that can make it rain... work. I don't know how it does it but it does. And honestly that's more impressive than how bad the last level is.

I was impressed by the presentation of this game. It really felt modern in that regard. And it goes to show you just how much things change, they stay the same.

4. Lies of P

I have a lot of thoughts on this game, and I'm not sure how to articulate myself on without being a bit too negative. It's not a bad game by any means. I did, however, find it extremely frustrating.

How did you find Battalion Wars 2? Imagine you posted impressions somewhere on the "old" site?

It seemed really short and easy. Barely any opportunity to use strategy, very linear campaign. Maybe they focused on multiplayer since they've added it to this game. First one didn't have multiplayer and campaign feel more substantial.
